Haven't really posted anything in a while because I haven't been really actively watching Jdrama, variety and listening Jmusic lately. Yes, Y U SO BUSY University. :p But because of the lack of language classes lately I started to sub a Jdrama to improve my vocabulary and to not forget Japanese. It's actually the first time I'm subbing a Jdrama, I did do episode 3 of 13-sai no Hello Work, but I won't release it since an other group picked it up here on LJ and they're a lot faster than I am. I started subbing a drama called Mousou Sousa, a surprisingly funny drama from last season with Sato Ryuta and Sakuraba Nanami which no one picked up. I'm currently half-way through episode 2 and I really notice that my Japanese has improved over the last year. (But it still takes ages to translate an episode >__<) But because a lot of paper deadlines and the final exams are coming up I decided to translate a few episodes before I'd release something. I mean, I know how annoying it can be to wait for the next episode to be subbed. So please look forward to it, and have a nice day~ ^__^

Yoshimoto R&C uploaded the short version of Shinsengumi Lien's christmas song 'Merry X'mas to U' (14/12 release) on their YouTube channel. They also uploaded a video comment from members Sakakibara Tetsuji and Yamaguchi Jun where they promote their song in English!

The five-member group Shinsengumi Lien was formed in 2009 through NTV's variety show 'Jinsei ga Kawaru 1pun kan no Fukaii Hanashi' and consists of members Mori Kouhei (23), Kunisada Hiroya (23), Seki Yoshiya (22), Sakakibara Tetsuji (22) and Yamaguchi Jun (21). This is the first single since their producer Shimada Shinsuke retired from the entertainment industry.

But Mori, you should really get rid of the red hair.

I finally found the time and motivation to complete this clip. I already started on it back in august, but I only did the first few minutes back then. I used the analog video that was uploaded on D-addicts and I apologize for the awkward English that might (or might not) appear because I'm not an English native speaker. Enjoy! ^__^

Summary: This is an hilarious clip from London Hearts where our two hosts Atsushi and Ryo have to do a ranking too! Just when they think the shooting is over Ariyoshi comes in and takes over control! Ariyoshi turns into the MC and conducts an Onee-ranking with some hilarious results! What's the question and how will they rank the Onee's? Watch to find out! I don't have to explain what an Onee is, right? If you don't know you will definitely know it after watching this clip.

MC's: London Boots 1-Go 2-Go (Tamura Atsushi, Tamura Ryo), Ariyoshi Hiroiki, misono
Onee's: Haruna Ai, Chris Matsumura, IKKO, Mitz Mangrove, Tanoshingo, KABA.chan, Ogunee, Yamazaki Tooru, Maeda Ken, Majima Shigeki

It's been a while since I posted something over here. And even though I seriously messed up today and really (x29289383) HATE myself because of that I almost forgot the funny thing that happened today.

Today during my Japanese Law class at university the teacher showed us a clip of Gyouretsu no Dekiru Houritsu Soudanjo (行列のできる法律相談所). And it still had Shinsuke in it. He asked all sort of things about that segment and because I actually watch that show I could answer him immediately. XD And after that he talked and asked all sort of things about Shinsuke. (Nice bridge he had there between Japanese lawyers and Yakuza :p) Ahw yeah, that's some serious participation points that went up! Who said watching Variety is useless? :p

And the annoying thing is that I could need some 相談 myself right now. 恋愛相談 so to speak...

It's currently 4:50AM (and I can't sleep, suspense is killing me >__<)over here and most people should know by now that Shimada Shinsuke retired from the entertainment industry. You either loved or hated the man, but he did pull in the ratings for the TV Channels. He had 6 big variety shows and what will happen to them?

I'm really concerned about especially Hexagon. I love that show so fucking much that I go crazy while even thinking about it coming to an end some day. But now this might turn into reality. Hexagon has been replaced by a rerun of a Taka and Toshi show even though 3-4 episodes were already recorded in advance.

I've been cheking Japanese new sites and 2ch like crazy and the craziest rumors appear. Hexagon is currently on hiatus, and at this moment the chance of it coming back is REALLY LOW. But officially they're currently debating wheter or not to continue the show. The craziest rumor until now: possible Hexagon III with London Boots' Atsushi as the host. (But that's probably not gonna happen)

Three other shows probably will survive the cut: Gyouretsu no Dekiru Houritsu Soudanjo (with Higashino as possible new host), Jinsei ga Kawaru 1pun no Fukaii Hanashi (with Hattori as a possible new host) and Kantei-dan (with Higashino again as a possible host). Speculations currently point out that Hexagon, Shinsuke Shachou and Quiz Shinsuke-kun have a big chance of not returning. Well, all shows are currently on hiatus except for Kantei-dan which probably will have an episode this week.

Hexagon family members are probably not allowed to comment, same goes for Yoshimoto comedians. What will happen to units produced by (Cassius) Shimada like Sata Andagi and Shinsengumi Lien is currently unknown. But I fear the worst...

(23-24/8)

EDIT: Hexagon might be hosted by another popular Yoshimoto talent.[~LeSalle] (Hey, could it be Atsushi?)
EDIT 2: Apparently Shinsuke's press conference pulled some high ratings for NTV: 18.6%.
EDIT 3: Tsuruno commented on his blog that he'll continue to support and love the 'person' Shimada Shinsuke.
EDIT 4: Gyouretsu no Dekiru Houritsu Soudanjo and Kantei-dan are confirmed to return with new hosts.
Predictions: Gyouretsu -> Tokumitsu Kazuo, Kantei-dan -> Ishizaki Kouji, Hexagon -> Ogura-san (!!!), Fukaii Hanashi -> Miyane Seiji, others will be cut.
EDIT 5: For some reason I see a lot of people predicting Atsushi as the new Hexagon host. For the other shows Imada Kouji and Cream Stew also appear a lot. Also, most people do predict that Hexagon might disappear, but it might be hard since it has so many regulars.
EDIT 6: New prediction: LeSalle as Hexagon host, or cut.
EDIT 7: With even Tamori and Sanma in the predictions, that means that there's no new information for serious rumors and time for me to catch some sleep.

EDIT 8: A lot of comments from Hexagon Family members:
Kamiji Yusuke- Shinsuke was like a dad that protected me. (Can't find the real thing, but it said so in a news article)
Satoda Mai is thankful to Shinsuke: I wouldn't be as I am now, if I wouldn't have met Shinsuke.
Tsuji Nozomi - He was a person who advised me when I was troubled, encouraged me and helped me out. He's a person I admire.
Yaguchi Mari - Shimada Shinsuke was like a father to us. He helped me out and gave me the solo debut that I already gave up. I don't want Shinsuke to retire.

EDIT 9: New prediction: LeSalle to host Hexagon and he'll be replaced in october by Atsushi. (This rumor is just too specific...)

EDIT 10: Another rumor that was just too specific:
Hexagon will be replaced by a show hosted by Katou Kouji
Gyouretsu will be replaced by a show for Johnny's group NEWS.
Shinsuke Shachou will be replaced by a show hosted by SMAP's Katori.

EDIT 11: Guess with this photo that has been uploaded to 2ch, Katou Kouji can forget a new show. New rumor is that it will be replaced by Bakademy. Okay, it's Nakai. My mistake. :p

EDIT 12: Looks like Fuji also removed Shinsuke's photo from the Hexagon page. There's also no new program info, even though it said that another HexaxHaneruxHonmaxBest House special was planned for next week. The tv goude on Fuji's site lists next week's episode as 'under adjustment'. The ep had to be the 4 program special with Umemiya Tatsuo in the O-baka Heya, a great performance in the I don't really care quiz and a big turnaround in the Relay Quiz.

EDIT 13: I just read an article by Mainichi/Sponichi that said that they'll be debating about the future of Hexagon the coming days, but it most likely won't return, because it's a program that won't work with a new host. (I mean, all talents are from the Shinsuke Family and he also produces the units and such...) But other sources suggest that it's already decided that Hexagon won't return unfortunately.

Screencap of Taka Toshi with Hexagon notice.

<25/8>

EDIT 14: The Taka-Toshi rerun managed to get an 8% rating, which is a lot lower than the usual 12-15% of Hexagon. NTV seemed to profit from the lack of Hexagon and TORE got 13,1% which is a ~3% higher than usual.

EDIT 15: Time for me to sleep. I barely slept last night and I don't want to be tired the whole day again tomorrow. Kamiji also posted a touching blog comment about his daddy Shinsuke. 99% of the people on 2ch are glad that Shinsuke and Hexagon are gone, but at the same time people are worrying about what will happen to Shinsengumi, Sata Andagi and talents like misono, Kamiji, etc. This could be a lot of damage for their carreers.

EDIT 16: Sanspo (Fuji-affiliated) released a new message that Hexagon is on hiatus for now and next week, as rumored, Bakademy will fill in the wednesday 7PM timeslot. They're currently deciding on what to air the week after that. Whether its a rerun, a new show or Hexagon in a new form is currently unknown.

EDIT 17:
The shows that have already been taped in advance caused an estimated loss of 230 million yen (~€2 million) for the channels.

<26/8>

EDIT 18: Two interesting things when I woke up this morning: LeSalle confirmed in an interview with Asahi Shinbun that he WON'T be the new Hexagon host, instead he thinks that the Hexagon Family members will rotate as host. Also, rumor goes that there will be a Hexagon revival special in a few weeks. That same person also posted a list with contestants for that episodes. Mainly people who have been on Hexagon over the last year, but the list is kind of suspicious. (Tsuji, Michishige, Kasai Tomomi and Nokubo Naoki, yeah right...) (But who knows...)

EDIT 19: According to this Tokyograph article, scheduled Hexagon recordings haven't been cancelled, which might mean that Hexagon might continue. Sponichi adds that it's because the sponsors are pushing for a continuation of the show. Possible new hosts are Sanma, Ninety-Nine's Okamura and London Boots' Atsushi. But the article mentions that it'll most likely be a rotation of Hexagon Family members, like rumored earlier.

<27/8>

EDIT 20: A new day, and good news. It looks like it's pretty much confirmed that Hexagon will return. Fuji Terebi also re-opened the Hexagon attraction at their summer event after cutting the Shinsuke related things. News articles are hinting that FUJIWARA, Shinagawa Shouji (and possibly others) will probably host the show.

EDIT 21: Since there's a big chance that Hexagon is coming back, people are speculating about the new MC. Looking at LeSalle's previous comment and the new news articles there's a big chance that FUJIWARA and Shinagawa Shouji will replace Shinsuke as MC. But since it's not confirmed people are still guessing. A lot of people think that Hexagon Family-member Watanabe-Leader could be a good host since he also did Tokyo Friend Park II. People think he might do something next to FUJIWARA and Shinagawa Shouji (same goes for LeSalle). But people also think that Ninety-Nine and Nakai Masahiro fit in with the Hexagon atmosphere. At the same time a lot of people are hoping for Nokubo Naoki's comeback with the renewal. The former Shuuchishin-member had to leave Hexagon two years ago and they think it's time for him to come back. What do you think?

<1/9>
EDIT 22: Good news for Hexagon fans! Hexagon will air next week! Nakamura-announcer will be doing the MC with Fujimoto and Tsuruno next week. The week after that Shinagawa and Kamiji will be the MC's with Nakamura-announcer. There are no episodes on the 21st and 28th and the MC's for the episodes after that haven't been announced yet. ^__^ So they will probably rotate the host as rumored.

<4/9>
Sorry for not updating this; Latest news is that Fuji Terebi is still deciding whether to continue Hexagon after september or not. The chances are 50/50. They say that they want to decide soon and the final decision should be made by october. It looks like they really want to seperate the Family from Shinsuke and might go as far as reforming the show. Why couldn't they tell this with the previous announcement? >__<

And a bonus picture of this weeks hosts =D:

<5/9>

Yesterday, the first episode of Gyouretsu no Dekiru Houritsu Soudanjo without Shinsuke was aired. It got a rating of 19.4%. The MC for this episode was Higashino Kouji and next week Miyasato Hiroyuki will be the MC. The episode was quite interesting (with quite some Shinsuke jokes). I'll upload the episode, so everyone can check it out. ^__^
Download: MegaUpload // Size: 161MB // Resolution: 448x252 // The quality is pretty good even though it's a streaming rip!

Guests: AFTERSCHOOL, Yamazaki Toshiyuki (pencil-art), Tateki Sae // Pannelers: (or whatever you call them) Kamiji Yusuke, Footbal Hour Gotou, Isono Kiriko, etc.

<6/9>
The guests for this week's episode of Hexagon appear to be only Family members: LeSalle, Watanabe-leader, Chris, Okada, Haranishi, Motoki, Shinagawa, Shouji, Tanaka, Yamane, Kamiji, Kojima, Yaguchi, Satoda, misono, Shintarou, Sakimon, Suzanne, Yukkina, Mori and Akkina.

14/9
For those who didn't know yet; Hexagon will end on the 28th of this month. This is definitely the end of Hexagon. The replacement show hasn't been announced yet. So, I guess today is the last episode of Hexagon (or there might be another two). Hexagon R.I.P.

It's vacation and since there's only rain, rain and more rain, I decided to start subbing some clips. It's the first time that I release one of my Japanese-English videos. I usually start on videos, but I always lose interest halfway for some reason (could be recognizable for fansubbers :p). But yeah, this is one of my first attemps for translating Japanese to English so there are bound to be some mistakes since I'm still learning. And there could be some awkward English in there because I'm Dutch. (I mean, it looks fine to me, but some things might look weird to native speakers) I've encoded this over and over, because everytime I notice another mistake and this time I just decided to upload it without checking the file. :p I also think it's hard to translate J-pop songs, so I took some liberties with that one, but it should grab the overall meaning. ^__^

She will never forget him after this...

Itano Tomomi guests on HEY! HEY! HEY!'s Video CHAMP section. The first clip is of a cat and after that comedian/musician AMEMIYA dedicates a song to Tomochin. And that's always one of my HEY! HEY! HEY! highlights! What did AMEMIYA find out about Tomochin? And which very special person wrote a letter to Tomochin? Find out in the clip!

Info and download under the cut! )

I'm thinking of subbing more clips in the future and/or finishing some of my older subs. So I might post more soon. ^__^
