This morning I saw this post on Tokyograph;

"Beck," the popular music manga by Harold Sakuishi, is being adapted as a live-action film. Director Yukihiko Tsutsumi ("20th Century Boys") will be in charge of the project, with actor Hiro Mizushima in the leading role.

The manga, which was originally serialized from 2000 to 2008, tells the story of five young men who form a rock band called Beck. The protagonist in the manga was the guitarist/vocalist Yukio "Koyuki" Tanaka, but the film will instead revolve around the band's main guitarist and leader, Ryusuke Minami.

Mizushima has been cast as Ryusuke, while Takeru Sato will play the part of Koyuki. The two previously played brothers in the drama series "Mei-chan no Shitsuji." Playing the other members of Beck are Kenta Kiritani as the rapper Chiba, Osamu Mukai as the bassist Taira, and Aoi Nakamura as the drummer Saku.

30 original songs are being written, which will be performed by the actors themselves with real instruments. Mizushima and the others are currently undergoing special training for about a month. The movie's climax is said to be a large-scale concert scene with the band playing on stage.

Shooting is scheduled to start in early July, with a theatrical release expected in fall 2010.

I'm SOOOO excited for this! I'm totally over all the anime stuff, but BECK is the only anime/manga that can still make me happy. I love that show! And now, a live-action movie with Hiro and Takeru?! o__O *Happy*

I just read this on Tokyograph;

TOKIO's Tomoya Nagase is starring in a new drama on NTV next season. The show, currently untitled, is described as a comedy revolving around a superspy character.

Nagase plays Kyosuke Yoroi, a swindler serving a 30-year sentence after being caught for more than a dozen cases of fraud. However, the government sees that Kyosuke's skills can be put to use, so it arranges for his release under the condition that he becomes a spy to help fight against terrorists. His character is a bit clumsy and gets easily carried away, but he also possesses athleticism and sex appeal.

Each episode will tell one story, with different guests appearing each week. As part of his spy work, Nagase will be dressing up in various disguises, such as a pilot, a doctor, and a Korean actor resembling Bae Yong Joon. He will also be equipped with an array of gadgets, such as a ring that turns into a pistol and a shoe that doubles as a cell phone.

With Nagase filling in the "James Bond" role, his spy team will also have a beautiful "Bond girl"-type character named Dorothy.

Ryoichi Kimizuka is in charge of the screenplay. NTV will start airing the series in July, putting it in the network's Saturday 9:00pm time slot.

This looks so interesting. Nagase as a clumsy superspy = WIN. I wonder who's going to play Dorothy. XD I know what drama is going to be my favorite drama next season... Haha, I can't wait for July!

EDIT: This drama now has a title and it's called Karei Naru Spy. It lists Fukada Kyoko as one of the cast members, so she probably is playing the role of Dorothy. Sweet!

I changed the header of my journal, because GIRL NEXT DOOR already released Seeds of dreams. XD I changed it to Satoda Mai with Goda Kazoku's new single Don't Leave Me. Satoda Mai with Goda Kazoku consists of (Country Musume-member) Satoda Mai, (Koda Kumi's sister) misono, (new member and model) Kanbe Ranko and (FUJIWARA-member) Fujimoto Toshifumi. They're all contestants on the Japanese quiz show Hexagon II.

There are so many Hexagon releases this year! In january, Satoda Mai with Goda Kyoudai released their second single Bye Bye and the Hexagon family Concert dvd was released. In march, Kamiji Yusuke released his first single Himawari and Yaguchi Mari released the single Seishun Boku/Seishun Ore with Air Band. In april, Tsuruno Takeshi released his first (and really impressive) cover album Tsuru no Uta. On to the new releases... ^__^

This month they're releasing another double A-side single. The first track is called Deaette Yokatta by Tomo (Shinagawa Shouji's Shouji) and Suzanne. It's a wedding song! You can listen to the preview on the Pony Canyon site. The other A-side is called Odaiba no Onna by Nakamura-announcer and the other announcer that's reading the questions (I don't now his name and I'm too lazy to google it XD). Shinsuke said it's going to be an Enka-song. >__<

We're getting another release in june! Another double A-side! =D The first track is called I believe -Yume no Kanaeru Mahou no Kotoba- and it's by Minami Akina's Super Mild Seven (FUJIWARA's Fujimoto and Haranishi, fitness-instructor Chris Matsumura, 'Keio-boy' Sakamoto Hiromi, regular Hata Youku and well-known comedian Kojima Yoshio). The second song is called Don't Leave Me and it's by Satoda Mai with Goda Kazoku. Argh, I can't wait for all those new songs. Deaete Yokatta has already been performed on hexagon and I love it! Suzanne is so cute! I'm looking forward to these releases!

I decided to rip my pre-hiatus NEWS cd's to a lossless format. I usually don't share lossless rips (because people should buy cd's to enjoy lossless rips!), but these cd's are out-of-print and pretty hard to find.

NEWS, here I come! )
